Presentation - the Loup Canyon

The Loup canyon takes his origin from a small village called Andon. This river flows across the 'Alpes Maritimes' into the Mediterranean Sea. 50kms long, the Loup river is known thanks to the 'gorges du Loup' where you can find one of the funniest canyon offering many jumps and many esthetic waterslides. Unfortunately, the Loup canyon is overcrowded during the summer because of the closeness with the French Riviera population.

Difficulty: Easy

The Loup canyon fits to beginners. Jumps are not mandatory. In the case that someone are not at ease, it is easy to drive him out. The open configuration of this canyon enables us to take beginners.

The Planning of the Day

The journey to the Loup canyon starts with a meeting with the instructor. He will distribute the equipment. Then, you will hike (downhill) for 5 to 10 minutes. The canyoning instructor will explain how the canyoning works in order to be safe during the tour. After that, you just have to enjoy the different obstacles offered by this marvelous canyon. The Loup canyon is particularly recommended whether you look for jumps and waterslides.

Where is the Loup canyon located?

The Loup Canyon is located in Pont du Loup, close to Grasse in the Alpes Maritimes. The GPS coordinates of the parking lot are :
43.7387, 7.0006 (decimal degrees)
43°44'19.3"N 7°00'02.2"E (DMS).

From Pont du Loup, go toward Gréolières or Courmes(D6). After a long tunnel, park your car on the left whether it is not busy.
